For those who were baptized at an early age, Confirmation is a mature public affirmation of Christian faith and the promises made at Baptism with laying on of hands by the bishop.  

 

Reception is available for someone who has joined the Episcopal Church and has already made a mature public affirmation of faith in another Christian tradition.  Reaffirmation of faith is for people baptized as adults, or who are renewing their commitment.

Confirmation, Reception, and Reaffirmation are offered at the bishop's annual visitation and are preceded by a period of preparation classes provided by church.
